Stourbridge Town Car Named George The Station Cat
One of the Class 139 Stourbridge Town Cars (139 002) was named "George The Station Cat" by Stourbridge MP Cat Eccles this morning. The ceremony was attended by officials of West Midlands Trains and Pre-Metro Operations Limited, station staff at Stourbridge Junction, invited members of the public including SLUG and, of course, the star of the show himself.
To publicise the event, West Midlands Railway issued an official statement that may be viewed by clicking on the first link below.
West Midlands Railway also announced that it intends to name the other Town Car (139 001) and has asked the public for its help by suggesting a name for this rail car. You can do so from the second link below and you have until Friday 22 August to make your suggestion.
