SLUG Launches Document To Compare Options For The Brierley Hill Line
One of the major aims of the Stourbridge Line User Group is to promote the re-opening of the former Stourbridge to Dudley railway with an extension to Walsall.
We are concerned that, despite previous promises, little is being done to push forward the reinstatement of passenger services on the current freight line between Stourbridge Junction and Harts Hill (Canal Street) to connect with the proposed West Midlands Metro extension.
For this reason, we have produced a report that evaluates the options for utilising the Stourbridge Junction to Brierley Hill rail corridor and have sent it to local politicians and decision makers. We hope that this report will stimulate discussion and raise the public profile of this project, which is essential given the level of traffic congestion along the A491 and A461 corridors north of Stourbridge.
The report is available to read or download by clicking on the link below.
